Despite suffering a bruised upper back when he flipped over San Antonio guard Tony Parker in Friday’s loss to San Antonio, New Orleans Hornets rookie shooting guard Marcus Thornton practiced Sunday and said he will play Monday night against the Golden State Warriors.
But Hornets Coach Jeff Bower said a final determination on Thornton’s status will not occur until after Monday’s shootaround but said he was optimistic. .
“I was more in shock and scared than hurt,” Thornton,said. “I will see how it feels, but I’m playing.”
Backup center Aaron Gray also practiced Sunday and could be available Monday after leaving Friday’s game in the third quarter because of a lower gastrointestinal problem.
